Curing the Hurt of Painful Hemorrhoids

One health issue people are talking more and more about these days are the horribly painful hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids consist of irritated veins surrounding the anus. When agitated they are known to bleed, become itchy and sometimes burst. Hemorrhoid pain can be very discomforting and if not treated in a timely manner they will only become worse over time and harder to cure. With today's medicines there are many ways to treat them and give temporary relief. Many people take a more natural and herbal route, while others use medicated creams and suppositories.

Increasing your daily fiber intake is another solution and treatment of hemorrhoid. The average american only digests ten grams of fiber a day in their diet. By increasing your fiber intake by fifteen to fourty grams you will regulate your digestive system and prevent hemorrhoids from forming. The many ways you can increase your intake is by eating plenty of fruits and vegetables and grains and cereals. Make sure you increase your fluid intake as well.

Bleeding Internal hemorrhoids occure mostly in the population in the age groups between 45 and 65.
If you are required to sit for long stretches of time, stand for long stretches of time. This can hasten the onset of bleeding internal hemorrhoids. Women who are pregnant sometimes develop these hemorrhoids.

A natural remedy for hemorrhoids is the inclusion of more fiber in the diet. It both prevents and cures the problem of hemorrhoids. Types of food that are high in fiber include grain products, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. These can be food items such as whole grain breads, dried peas and beans, almonds, avocado, and berries.

The first home treatment for the relief of hemorrhoids is applying a topical moisturizer. One of the common hemorrhoids causes is dehydration, and applying a topical moisturizer can help ease the pain by rehydrating the skin on and around the hemorrhoid. Prior to applying a moisturizer, be sure the product is designed for the treatment of hemorrhoids. Other moisturizers could cause a stinging sensation or possibly infection.

Bleeding internal hemorrhoids can be removed with surgery, your doctor can help you decide if you need to have them taken out by cutting, or laser or even with a cauterizing procedure.
It may be that surgery will not be needed and one of the other treatments will serve just as well. There are chemical treatments avaliable that will shrink the bleeding internal hemorrhoid. There is also a treatment where a rubber band is placed on the base of the hemorrhoid that will cut off the blood supply and shrink the hemorrhoid.
